December 15, A milestone was achieved that entered the history of STCJ as the maiden Christmas Ball was hosted in the parish. Peculiar to only STCJ a Christmas Ball exclusive for the youth was organized by the committee and the youth team. The event brought Christmas in the halls of STCJ early with the sparkling but dim lights and all the exquisite decorations. The youth however were the sight of the evening clothed in all the colors of Christmas.
The event was presided over by two main guests Brother Alan D'Silva (Jive instructor) and Ms. Marilyn Pereira (Jive instructor). The MC for the Evening was Mr. Selwyn Santmajor (Parish Youth Director) who set all the events in motion as smoothly as they could be.
The event began with a Parade and had multiple activities like Games, Spot Prizes, Face-off, Ramp Walk, Jive Rounds and much more. The main highlight for the event were two shining trophies 'The Sleighing It Award' meant for the best couple for the evening. The events on the night and the collective performance would inch couples closer to this golden ware.
From Waltz to Jive to Freestyle, each couple had to show off their moves and display their chemistry both spontaneously and even with all their practice. What a sight to behold, as it clearly showcased the hard-work each pair had put up. The judges had their eyes locked on the dance floor and grading every pair every second.
The honorable guests were presented with a token of love and appreciation for their relentless efforts after handing prizes to the winners of the games and spot prizes. The highlight for the show was all that remained and the prestigious award after much consideration by the judges was awarded to Mr. Ronald Menezes and Ms. Elita Lobo for their performance. They truly sleighed it!
The show came to a close with everyone clicking pictures after dancing for over 2 hours which felt like eternity and finally with dinner.
